Micro Metering Valve DELO-DOT

DELO-DOT Jet Dispensing ModeThe new DELO-DOT micro metering valve offers three methods of metering with just a single valve

        • Jetting-non-contact metering of free-flying drops (dots) of adhesive

        • Non-contact metering of an adhesive jet for potting

        • Bead metering in conventional contact applications using a needle

Jet mode offers some unique advantages compared with familiar metering systems, Jetting makes it possible to maintain a clearance of up to 40 mm between the valve and the component, thus effectively preventing a collision with components.  There is no movement along the Z axis as is necessary with needle metering; this saves time and costs.

Operating principle

The valve is driven by two parallel piezo actuators whose movements are transmitted to a push rod by a lever. The push rod supports a valve ball made of ceramic. The sealing seat (opening) is either sealed by the valve ball or clears the path for the adhesive to be delivered. The opening is made of highly resistant zirconium oxide.

Performance characteristics

The modified piezo drive and the material used, ceramic, ensure the valve enjoys a very long service life. It is now possible to meter adhesives that include abrasive fillers such as silica flour.

Quick

The piezo drive is extremely quick: its maximum operating frequency is 250 dots/s, that`s 900,000 dots/h! But it is also capable of performing constant metering for potting applications or for bead metering.

Versatile

The DELO-DOT is highly versatile. The viscosity of the adhesives can range from watery to pasty.

Precise

Metering accuracy is better than 1%.
